The Philippine junior wushu team made a good impression in the just-concluded World Junior Wushu Championships by winning eight medals, including the gold medal through Francesca Ysabel Bernasconi.

Ranged against some of the world’s best wushu athletes, Bernasconi won the gold medal in spear play of the Group B competition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The event was held over five days and participated in by athletes from 40 countries.
