Philippine Christian University (PCU) came back from a first set setback as it crashed Letran in Game 3 to retain the men’s volleyball championship in four sets, 23-25, 25-23, 25-16, 25-17, in the 82nd National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Led by Eric John Ganil, the Dolphins, who lost in the series opener of the best-of-3 Finals, proved too much for the Knights, showing tremendous poise to win their second straight championship.
“I’m very proud of my players they deserve the championship because they really worked hard for this,” said PCU mentor Butch Odron. “After losing Game 1, I challenged my players and they showed what character they have.”
Ganil was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP), winning his second straight individual plum.
