It’s been six days since former World Boxing Council (WBC) light flyweight champion Brian Viloria suffered a terrible loss at the hands of unheralded Mexican pug Omar NiƱo Romero at the New Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, and yet I still get lots of text messages and e-mails from friends wondering just what the hell happened to the ‘Hawaiian Punch’ out there.
Dunno, I’m wondering myself, too. Ugh, was it really Viloria on top of that ring in the first place?
From what I saw, there was not a trace of Viloria in that 12-round massacre he took from this obscure Mexican hombre from Guadalajara. Viloria, or whoever that guy was out there, was so slow and boring that he could have easily lost to himself had he decided to even just shadow-box that night.
