Miriam College and Lyceum of the Philippines both moved one win away from the Women’s National Collegiate Athletic Association (WNCAA) 37th season senior basketball titles after winning Game 1 of the best-of-three finals Sunday at the St. Scholastica’s College gym.
Miriam had an easy time disposing of World Citi Colleges (WCC), 70-44, in the Senior B finals but the Lyceans had to go through an extra period before subduing College of St. Benilde (CSB), 42-40, in Senior A.
Miriam and Lyceum go for the titles next Sunday, Oct. 1, also at the St. Scho gym.
Lourdes Viloria topscored with 14 points, Vir Reyes pumped in 13 and Dominique Reyes added 11 for the Miriam Golden Gazelles who swept all their seven elimination round games.
