Summer Swimming Course for Kids

Don Bosco School in Makati offers summer sports programs for children during vacation. The sports include basic and advanced modules for swimming, basketball, football/soccer, badminton and martial arts. The school has the proper facilities and coaching staff for each sport that they teach and train for. The fee or cost of the summer sports programs are also very reasonable and affordable.

In the summer of 2009, 7-year old Gibson Marshall Diwa was enrolled by his parent to the summer swimming program at Don Bosco. When he started, Gibson did not know the basics of swimming – he loved to play in the pool and the beach – but he could not swim on his own, he did not have the basics. Within two weeks of the swimming program, Gibson not only knew and mastered the basics of swimming but he can swim across the pool on his own account using freestyle swimming technique. It was a worthwhile summer sports activity for Gibson as it can be for any child.

Inquire at the Don Bosco School in Makati for specifics about the Summer Sports Program in 2010.

Manny Pacquiao Knocks Out Ricky Hatton in 2nd Round

Top Filipino boxer Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao easily defeated Ricky "Hitman" Hatton of Great Britain at their sold out boxing match in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Manny Pacquiao vs Ricky Hatton boxing knock out

Manny Pacquiao dealt Ricky Hatton the knock out punch at the closing of the 2nd round. Referee Kenny Bayless took one look at Hatton and declared the fight over at 2:59 of the second round.

“I didn’t have to count,” Bayless said.

Hatton laid on the canvas for several minutes while doctors tended to him before finally leaving the ring with a wry smile on his face. He was taken to a local hospital for a precautionary brain scan.

Pacquiao connected 73 of his 127 punches while Hatton could only connect 18 of 78 punches. Manny was not only quicker but was also stronger than Hatton. Ricky Hatton had to shave and lose a lot of pounds going to the fight and this may have caused his weakness vs the pound for pound punches that Pacquiao delivered.

Pacquiao had the perfect game plan for Hatton, evading his bullying rushes and then picking him apart with counter punches. The performance was even more stunning because Hatton had lost only once and has been a world-class fighter for years

The boxing purse for both figthers is a guranteed $12 million for Manny Pacquiao and $8million for Hatton of the UK. Both boxers will also receive a percentage of the proceeds from pay-per-view.

The boxing crowd at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas was shocked to still quiet after Pacquiao KO’d Hatton in the 2nd. With this latest boxing win, there will be huge pressure on both Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao  to finally battleeach other in the boxing ring. But that will have to wait, for now, the Philippines’ best boxer will return to his home turf to celebrate his latest victory with the Filipino country.

Surfing in San Juan, La Union

This is an original content by PinoySports dot PH.

We’re excited to present this video feature of surfing in San Juan, La Union. Featuring appearances from Luke Landrigan, Abe the Surf Guru, Marc "Maqi" Garcia as the Surf Student and their friends; this video will tickle your surfing bone and have you riding on the next bus to San Juan. Happy viewing.

San Juan. Surfing Town

San Juan town in La Union is a popular surf destination for surfing enthusiasts. San Juan boasts beaches with surfing waves for beginners, intermediate and advanced surfers.

San Juan is a town in La Union province located in the nothern Philippines. It is approximately 4 hours away by bus ride from Manila.

But how did San Juan become a surfing destination.

Brian Landrigan pioneered surfing in San Juan

During the 80′s Australian Brian Landrigan were frequent visitors to the Wallace Air Station in San Fernando La Union. Wallace is an airport near the shore which inspired Brian and his friends to venture out to the bay to see if there are waves to ride.

And big surfing waves they found, the most promixing ones for surfing were at Barangay Urbistondo in San Juan town. Thus started their regular surfing activities on their frequent visits to the Philippines.

The Filipino locals were so amazed with the Australian surfers’ surfing abilities, riding the waves with their longboards seemed to be a lot of fun. It didn’t take long for the Philippine locals to join in the fun of surfing with their visitors.

Brian’s group typically left their surf boards with the locals knowing that the Filipino surfers were truly falling in love with the sport. It didn’t take long for some Filipinos to stand out in the sport of surfing, too.

Brian Landrigan’s hobby positioned him to be a leader and a pioneer in the Philippine surfing scene. He established the San Juan Surf Resort to answer the growing interest and requirements of the Philippine surfing aficionados.

Cool Luke. The son also rises.

Brian is also the father of Luke Landrigan , on his own right a very talented surfer, and as a half-Filipino represents the Philippines at international surfing competitions. Together, they are at the forefront of the surfing community in San Juan; leading in education and training of surfers with their Billabong Surf School , preservation of the beaches, and hosting guests at their idyllic and affordable resort, the San Juan Surf Resort.
